At Flint Hills Resources, we create products that improve people’s lives.
From the fuels that keep us moving, to the chemical building blocks that help make modern life possible, here’s a look at the wide variety of products we produce and transport all over the world.
Products and Pipelines by the Numbers
Our 3 oil refineries have a combined refining capacity of approximately 700,000 barrels per day – that’s 26 million gallons of transportation fuel every day.
We make 390 million gallons of paraffinic base oil annually, enough for nearly 400 million oil changes.
Our Minnesota refinery is one of the largest asphalt producers in America, producing approximately 10% of nationwide demand. That’s more than 5,000 tons per day or 250 carrier trucks daily.
Miles of Pipeline
We own and operate more than 4,000 miles of crude oil and refined product pipelines. That’s longer than the distance from Alaska to Texas.
We provide a significant percentage of the jet fuel at 3 of America’s busiest airports: Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin-Bergstrom and Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airports.
Years in Business
Our origins in the refining business go back more than 60 years. We are proud to be part of Koch Industries, America’s second largest private company, with more than 130,000 employees worldwide. Since 2003, Koch companies have invested nearly $105 billion in acquisitions and other capital expenditures. We are original Koch.
Flint Hills Resources’ three refineries have a combined capacity of approximately 700,000 barrels per day. Our refineries make transportation fuels – gasoline, jet fuel and diesel – that Americans rely on every day to get where they need to go.
We are one of the nation’s leading producers of asphalt. In addition, we produce nearly 3 billion pounds of petrochemicals per year, which are the building blocks for products that make modern life possible. Click here to read about the aromatic products we produce and how they are used.
